Tree Care Professional: Crew Lead/ Safety Coordinator/ Climber

Description: Wolff Tree and Landscape, LLC (WTL), a residential and commercial tree care provider, is looking for an experienced person to join our hard working team. We pride ourselves on client satisfaction, quality service, and attention to detail with a focus on safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Crew Lead
• Responsible for managing a crew daily on various jobs.
• Be able to efficiently manage and conduct the crew to get the job done safely and quickly to maximize profit without putting safety at risk.
• Responsible for training guys on various skills on a daily basis and notifying the owner of any training deficiencies and/or training needed.
• Supervise crew members daily and if needed, report crew issues to the owner.
• Responsible for conducting training sessions on an as needed basis.

Safety Coordinator
• Identify and investigate potential workplace hazards and provide recommendations to eliminate or reduce those hazards
• Create, monitor and implement safety policies and procedures
• Ensure that the company and employees are in compliance with all regulatory standards
• Increase employee safety awareness by providing comprehensive and consistent (weekly/monthly) training; document training attendance records
• Coordinate safety activities and training to ensure implementation of safety awareness programs throughout the organization
• Facilitate communication and cooperation between management and employees on safety and health issues
• Update and maintain the company Illness & Injury Prevention Program (IIPP)
• Respond to any MOSH/ OSHA findings with the Business Manager and/or Owner
• Propose and implement an equipment/ daily vehicle check as well as appropriate documentation
• Work with the mechanic on equipment/ property issues that could potentially be an employee training/ safety issue
Climber
• Climbing daily both with rope and saddle and bucket truck operations (including rigging, pruning, crane work, utility lines, and large removals).
• Perform all required ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties as assigned.
• Assist in daily maintenance checks of fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Participate in any training and/or safety meetings.
• Daily driver of various equipment and employees to the job site.
• Develop proficiency in operating a bucket truck, skid loader, chipper, stump grinder, wood processor, and splitter.
• Strong sense of safety, leadership, listening skills, and detail oriented
• Customer service skills; both residential and commercial
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Qualifications
• Experience in tree care industry, 1+ years
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Maryland Tree Expert License
• Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (CTSP)
• ISA Certified Arborist
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• First Aid/ CPR Certified
